Nick Simmons statement on the Supreme Court decision to strike down the bump stock ban

Nick Simmons: “We should all be infuriated by this decision and its dangerous implications. As a parent and a former teacher, I know that when it comes to gun violence, the most vulnerable among us pay the greatest price. Bump stocks will recklessly put lives at risk. It is morally inexcusable to dismantle our gun safety laws.

So let’s be clear. This decision allows semi-automatic rifles to fire at a rate of hundreds of rounds per minute. This directly threatens the safety of our neighborhoods and schools. It’s a win for the gun lobby and utterly disregards the safety of our children. We must continue to advocate for comprehensive gun reform to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.”
